Using the Social History Annotation Corpus (SHAC), Track 2: Extracting Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) explores the extraction of SDOH from clinical notes, including substance use (alcohol, drug, tobacco), employment, and living status information.

The Generalizability Subtask (Track 2B) will explore the generalizability of the extraction frameworks from one institution to another. Participants will be provided the same MIMIC-III training set as Subtask A (D^mimic/_train), and extraction performance will be evaluated on a University of Washington (UW) test set (D^uw/_test-b).

Participating teams are required to sign the n2c2 Rules of Conduct, MIMIC DUA, and UW DUA.
